Sandra Katz
Sandra Katz was born in Hamilton, Ontario. She is an educator/artist/scholar who has practiced and developed her craft for thirty years. Early in her career, she studied Drama in education at Goldsmith's College in London, England under the supervision of Professor Richard Courtney. She received her Bachelor of Education and Master of Education specializing in drama and arts therapies in education. She has additional qualifications in counseling, special education, and has training in psychodrama, Feldenkrais and other movement techniques, Yoga, Bioenergetics, Tai Chi and alternative healing practices. She has trained in voice over, scene study, monologue, and performing for the camera. She co-founded Arts Carousel which is a non profit organization providing arts for the physically disabled. As a director she has staged award winning one act plays for the Ontario Sears One Act Drama Festival. Sandra has acted in amateur theatre productions and has been chair of the Drama in Education Association for Peel District Board. She has authored articles and chapters in books, newsletters and professional drama in education journals. Presently she teaches OISE/U of T's additional qualifications courses. Sandra continues to act as a private consultant and networks with educators, grad students and drama therapists around the world.
